When is the best time to book a Newborn session?

The best time for a Newborn photoshoot is during the first 3 weeks of baby being born. Baby is still very curled up, sleepy and easier to position during this time. If you are unable to book in during that time, that's not a problem, we can still capture beautiful newborn images of your little one. Newborn sessions are available for babies up to 3 months.

When should I book a Newborn session?

Ideally book your Newborn session during your 3rd trimester. I normally advise to book a date 7 - 14 days after your due date. If baby arrives early or late we can amend the date closer to the time. If your baby has already arrived and you have not booked a Newborn session, please get in contact and if I will do my best to book you in (depending on availability).

What do you charge for a Newborn session?

Newborn Sessions with parent/sibling are £95. Digital Download Packages are purchased separately. See 'Pricing'.

Where are you based or can you come to me at my home?

I set up my studio at my home address in Pill, North Somerset, just outside of Bristol. As a mum myself I know it can be tricky to get out & about those first few weeks after baby arrives, if you prefer I can bring the studio experience to you in the comfort of your own home.

How long is the Newborn session?

Newborn sessions are up to 3 hours. This is to allow plenty of time for feeds, outfit changes, nappy changes and settling to sleep. This is a baby led session and we will work around your baby's needs.

What if my baby cries or wont sleep?

If baby becomes unsettled I will stop and see if you are able to comfort them with a feed or a cuddle. You should never need to feel rushed or under any pressure as your baby’s needs come first.  Sometimes babies take a little while to fall asleep, with some cuddles and white noise they do fall asleep eventually!

How long until we get to see the images?

You will receive your own password protected online gallery 2 - 3 weeks after the session. You can then pick which images you would like via your online gallery in your own time with no hard selling from myself. The online gallery is available for 1 year before it is removed.

What should I dress my baby in?

I recommend white or neutral colours. In my opinion nothing is cuter than a baby in a nappy! Please bring any special outfits you would like baby photographed in. I do have some newborn hats, nappy covers and swaddles that can be used during the session.

What should I wear to the Session?

As above I would recommend wearing either white or neutral colours. I do have the room very warm so that baby is comfortable, therefore light clothing is advised.

Do you edit the images?

Following the Newborn session, your images will be reviewed, culled and edited to the final images that make the gallery. All images will have watermarks until your order has been completed. This allows you to enjoy reviewing your images at your leisure.

The images will have received careful editing and final touching as required. Light editing and final touching includes lighting adjustments, skin and hair adjustments and removal, colour changes & cropping.
